1. One of the four closest disciples of Siddha Nagarjuna, Nagabodhi, a Brahmin thief, realized the natural state, emptiness, as his master was explaining to him the pure essence of mind.

2. Atisha Dipamkara Shrijñana came to Tibet in 1042. In a vision, Tara, who was his tutelary deity, said to him before he left the University of Vikramashila: “Go to Tibet at all costs! It will help the Dharma in general, and the benefit will be especially great if you associate with the upasaka [Drom Tönpa]. All this, however, will shorten your life by twenty years.” Atisha thought that it did not matter as long as the doctrine and beings could be benefited, and he set off at the expense of his life.

3. Those who are worthy of our generosity are all beings in need, those who are suffering, and the buddhas and bodhisattvas.

4. Belts readily adjust to different waists.

5. Salt melts into food providing its taste while remaining invisible.

6. In Vajrayana, the disciples of the same master from whom one has received teachings and initiations must be considered with the utmost respect. They become vajra (“diamond”) brothers and sisters, meaning that their spiritual connection must be pure and unalterable.
